What to expect

A summer spent igniting your passion for culinary and learning more about the world of cuisine.

Breakfast in our Montreux campus is followed by a short trip over to our Le Bouveret campus. Here you will partake in dynamic practical and theoretical classes in real working kitchens. After lunch, its back into the kitchen for some more culinary adventures. Once back in camp, enjoy dinner with friends and then some free time enjoying the city of Montreux. Evening activities are planned each night but are not obligatory.

At the end of your time in camp, you’ll receive a certficate at our graduation ceremony which will serve to help you in the wonderful career ahead of you. 

Courses for the Swiss Culinary Camp take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, in the morning and in the afternoon. Wednesday is dedicated to an excursion around the region. The fact that our courses explore different types of culinary traditions every week opens our program to students for a training of 1 to 4 weeks.

Course outline

Our introduction to culinary arts course takes you on a discovery of various culinary traditions. During the week, you will learn about various techniques to work safely in a kitchen, taste new foods, and learn recipes to share with your friends and family.

Week 1 and week 5 are dedicated to “European cuisine”, from a pizza to bread, or even a Swiss fondue.

Week 2 and week 6 will take you on a worldwide tour through our “World cuisine” course.

Weeks 3, 4 and 7 are dedicated to “Chocolate and Pastry“,especially created for the sweet lovers.

Teaching methods

Teachers are encouraged to use flexible and diverse teaching methods and techniques, making sure to fit the group and the specific needs of each student, covering a large range of topics and subjects. The small number of students per group (average of 12) makes it easier to ensure every student’s progress. Teachers have access to a wide array of equipment and accessories to help them create fun and interactive classes.

Your stay at the Swiss Education Academy camp will certainly help you with your language skills. Your progress will also depend on your personal investment and your motivation. The exceptional atmosphere of our courses will help you learn and make progress in a relaxed environment!.

Evening activities

Evening activities

The evening is the best time of the day to relax, have fun, and enjoy the atmosphere of the program. Activities include an ice-breaker, evening by the lake, cinema nights, karaoke and so many others. Evening activities are optional, however, they are a great bonding opportunity as well as an integral part of community life.

Excursions

Every Saturday, students who are staying at Swiss Education Academy another week go on a day long excursion. Our excursions are pogrammed in advance so students get a chance to visit mulitiple destinations.

The city of Bern

Bern, the Swiss capital, is a historical city renowned for its BearPark and the Parliament building, that hosts the federal government. Spend the afternoon shopping, sightseeing, or simply relaxing in a café or one of the cities many parks.

Olympic museum

Lausanne is the Olympic capital and the home of International Olympic Committee. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the fascinating Olympic Museum, followed by a trip to the city of Lausanne for some retail therapy.
